What should it cost to install a sump pump with plumbing into an existing basement sump pump basin?

Hi there, we have a basin/well for a sump pump in our basement that we are considering opening up to install a sump pump with plumbing. The well is covered shut with a black plastic/resin cover since we purchased the home. The basement is about 5 feet below surface. What should it cost to open up the well cover, install an average pump, and pipe the outlet 5 feet above and out of the basement? There is currently no piping or holes in the basement wall to exit the piping.

If you click on the Basement Waterproofing link below your questions (though Plumber is your contractor category) you can find a number of prior similar questions with info on typical prices for simple installs, higher-end installs, and installs with battery backup.

Extreme ballpark numbers - almsot certainly over $250 and usually less than $500 for normal installation without battery backup.

Make sure the discharge is to a swale or drain pipe that willcarry the water away from the foundation, not just dump it right at the foundation to seep backto the sump pit.
