What is a fair charge for replacing the roof on a 2,400 square foot home in Oklahoma? Asphalt Shingles

Our roofing company is charging us over $16,400. That seems high.

Commonly, $5-8/SF, with about $4-10/SF encompassing almost all asphalt shingle jobs, even very steep roofs, so sounds on the higher end, especially considering you are ina generally pretty low cost area. Even here in my highk-cost area that $8 price would only about median, so I would say definitely onthe higher end for your area where building costs are close to half those in this area.


I would get a couple of other roofers with good reviews to give you bids (with comparable quality materials) so you can compare.
