Question DetailsAsked on 8/18/2014

What is a fair price for 4 vented glass block windows for a basement?

basic size, current windows are original to the house (1970 build) it is a full basement, unfinished in Michigan. I do have a few companies coming out to bid, would just like to know a ballpark general rule. I am new to home ownership so this is all foreign to me.

A 16x32 glass block replacement, sized for same size rough opening as current windows, costs about $100 plus or minus, and runs about $250-300 each installed if doing several at same time like you are. Larger ones, about 2x3 feet, run more like $300-450 installed in same size rough opening.

Be sure to check your local building code requirements, because bedrooms require one window suitable in size and operation for an egress window, and in some code areas there has to be at least onel legal egress window in a basement regardless of use.
