Question DetailsAsked on 10/15/2015

What kind of service is needed for a crawl space cover?

A cable technician told me that my crawl space is covered with a board and a stick, but needs an actual cover to prevent animals from entering and to prevent the cold from getting in my home. What is the name of this type of service and what types of companies offer this?

Assuming this is an unheated crawlspace, then access should have screened access doors to keep vermin out but allow ventilation - you do not want to seal it up or you will get mosture issues. OF course, any door up into the house itself, like a floor hatch, should be weatherstripped and insulated.

If a fully insulated, heated crawlspace then an insulated door should be put on it.

Assuming you are just talking access doors/hatches, Handymen would be a logical category.
