You're going to think this is crazy. But it has been used in salons for years before a color remover that actually worked especially when it comes to dark color. Cigarette ashes and water. Will remove even black color stains. If you don't smoke or know anyone who does I imagine you can go into a bar and collect as many ashes as you can in a plastic bag. It's better to have too many than not enough. Once you have them. Use a white hand towel as it can be bleached later. Putting the towel over your finger wet just the finger then dip it in the ashes. Rub the ashes in a circular motion rinsing every so often to see how you are doing. Once yo have removed all the stains wash your hands and apply hand cream. You may want to polish your nails as nothing can remove the stains on nails. Hope this helps and I'm sure you will never forget to wear gloves again.

If you google this search phrase you will find a number of solutions -
remove hair dye from hands

One thing a neighbor's wife tried after asking me (she had seen my hands all stained from staining shelving at some point in the past) that worked great was mechanics waterless hand cleaner - paint thinner also worked good but also took off nail polish, and does remove the oils in the skin
