If you're an Angie's List member, some highly-rated painters in your area may be offering deals on their services, or check the Member Benefits area of to see if there are deals on paint products in your area.

If you're not an Angie's List member, keep an eye out for some Big Deals in your area. You don't have to be a member to take advantage of the Big Deals--but members do get additional savings.

Stop by your local paint stores. If you are flexible they usually have paint marked down that was wrongly tinted. I've gotten good quality whole gallons for $4-5 in the past for projects that didn't have to match anything else, including the paint for my kid's rooms. Just go to the counter and ask for their "Oops" paint.
