Many areas have free or very cheap immunization clinics - typically once or twice a year.

Google for pet immunization clinics in your area, or call your local SPCA chapter or pet rescue organization if no SPCA in your area, or contact the local animal control agency (poound) - they commonly cooperate and co-sponsor free or cheap immunization and spay/neutering. Or ask your vet's office.
