I have two cypress trees approx 40-50 ft tall that need to come down and have the stumps ground down . Company could use the trees for making cypress mulch .

Unless done by a professional tree service company with insurance and such, you risk a lot having them taken out by just someone who wants the wood - consider what happens if they fell the trees the wrong way, or get hurt doing it. That is the risk with putting them on Craigslist or such for whoever wants them.

I guess it is possible that a tree removal service or plant center that does tree cutting would take them IF there is high demand for the mulched material in your area, but I wouldnot hold my breath. If one will take them for that purpose for free, certainly do not expect the stump grinding to be included - typically $75-150 range per trunk for that.

One other possibility is a firewood company that will cut the trees down for wood - but don't expect mulching/disposal of the branches/needles with that. Probably not a good bet, from liability standpoint, plus while cypress is a hot burning wood it is not very desireable for fireplaces or wood stoves because it creosotes badly.

My recommendation - just hire a tree removal service to take them down, chip and dispose of them, and grind the stump. Probably, assuming not difficult to take down (house and power line clearances, etc), in the $250-400 ballpark range each at that height, assuming truck with chipper can be driven with 50 feet or so.
