I presume you now have another newer water softener - or maybe went on city water which does not need softening ?

If you have a water softener and it is under a service contract with a company like Culligan, checkk with them - the tanks may belong to them and they may come and get them if they were left over from a system upgrade.

IF just normal size (a foot or two in diameter and maybe 4-6 feet tall), then if they fit in the motel dumpster just make sure they are disconnected from the water lines and the electric ires are removed at the box/wall switch, use a bucket to bail out water and any remaining salt, then just have them carried out and put in dumpster.

If larger or you have no staff for that, then Hauling (junk disposal companies) can do this if not too large for a couple of guys to carry out. Otherwise, a Handyman can probably cut them up in-place and haul off the pieces to the dump. Probably in the $200-400 range for the above depending on size and whether they need cutting up.
