Who do I call to repair/replace attic fan?

my attic is as hot as an oven and I do not hear any fan or motor running. We have the water heater also in the attic. but it is intolerable to go into the attic for any length of time. Even the pull down ladder is will burn you when you get to the top steps. the ceiling is very high and to reach the fan you will need a tall ladder. I prefer to call an expert to either come and repair or replace the fan, just have no idea who to call.

Not knowing if problem is electrical or at the fan, I would assume the fan or its thermostat is the problem - I would call a Heating and A/C contractor (your Search the List category). If it then turns out there is no power getting there you might have to call an electrician, but not usually the problem. Be sure if there is a manual power switch for this fan (sometimes by access hatch/door, sometimes in hall next to a hall light switch) that it is not off.
