In some areas, your cable TV company can provide TV, phone, and internet connection in one bundle. Major nationwide companies like AT&T and Verizon also do this as a combined package. Also, many local telephone companies provide combined phone, TV and internet via DSL (Dedicated Subscriber Line aka Digital Subscriber Line) and there are also independent services that do this via a phone or wireless or even dish TV connection - so check around on local services available under TV Service and Internet Service and Phone Service in Search the List.

I would do a lot of searching for complaints about service - because if your provider stinks oryour speed is consistently less than advertised, it is not worth it to you. Both one of my daughters and us have changed providers because of dropped connections and much slower than advertised speed - my daughter appears to be fairly satisfied with TimeWarner Cable for TV and internet but uses Verizon for phone service, we ended up dropping At&T and now use our local phone company which is not technologically the best but is adequate and at a competitive price.

Having your local ISP provider handle the hookup has the advantage that the wiring and installation is commonly free with anew customer service agreement, plus with a bundled plan you commonly save 10-25% on the bundle over individual service from different providers. Of course, unless you use google or yahoo or such for eMail, you have to change your eMail address with everyone you know.
