Question DetailsAsked on 8/13/2013

Whose auto repair in Austin TX is best for transmission and engine overheating problems?

I have a 1988 Cadillac Cimarron ("Classic Car?") with transmission and overheating problems. Need to find the best / most honest / most accurate diagnosis in Austin TX. Car runs ok when flat-out between 30-60 mph, but dies at lights unless I put it in park (at the light), then I have to shift back into drive and hope it shifts quickly. When I start car in the morning, I back out into apartment driveway, then put it into drive, but it takes between 5 and 15 seconds to put itself into gear. I can't use the AC unless I'm 30 mph or faster, then I have to turn off AC at lights. If it costs more than $500 I guess I'll just hold onto it until I can get a new used car. My problem is that in spite of everything I like the car.
