Why choose a doctor from Angie's List?

I know there are several neurologists in my area. What are the benefits to me in choosing one that is listed with Angie's List?

The benefit is not in "choosing" a provider that is listed on AL - it is in using AL to screen potential providers before choosing one by looking at their ratings and reading the reviews prior customers havae posted, so you get a preview up-front of what people like or dislike about them. You can also google the doctors names combined with the word - complaints - to see other blogs and comments about specific doctors - there are also a few medical-specific review sites out there.

In dealing with a specialist like a neurologist, your regular general medical provider can also provide recommendations. And be sure if your insurance company requires it (almost a certainty) that you have a referral from your general doctor AND insurance company pre-approval IN ADVANCE of the first visit if you want his/her services to be covered by your insurance.

Hi,

This is Kelly M. in Member Care. I'm happy to help!

One of the best things about Angie's List Health is that we help our members avoid wasting time and money on bad service and poor care. Just like our plumbers and roofers, doctors and dentists can be reviewed by Angie's List members. This way, if you're considering seeing a new physician, you can read other patient reviews to learn about the doctors' bedside manner, availability, the effectiveness of treatment, and more.

If you would like information on providers through this forum, please let us know. You can respond to this thread or submit a new Answers post. You can also reach us at

Thanks for your question, and have a good day!
