Question DetailsAsked on 1/25/2014

Why does a contractors grade change based on the number of miles from my home. I can get a B to change to A .

Contractor = Sod Sales Direct. If I select ANY in the "Provider Distance from your Address" the performance grade = B. If I enter 25 miles, the performance grade changes to an A. I found this disturbing since there were more "F" grades for this provider than A or B. If I had not been changing around the search criteria I would not have known this.
Do you find this as disturbing as I do? Thank you

Hello, this is Kiel from Angie's list. This change is reflected on the reviews that are within that distance. It would appear that reviewers within 25 miles of you have rated this provider such a way that they ahve an overall A grade. To discuss this matter further or get more clarification on the reviews of this provider, you will want to contact our call center at 1-888-944-5478.

Thanks so much,

What would worry me a lot more is an average of A or B if there are more F's than A's or B's - though that might be a function of the weighting - contacts without work done are weighted only - what is it - 25% weight, and non-members don't count at all.
