Why is it expedia . com can run a business the way they do?

Trying to change a flight reservation I've been put on hold by a group of some of the rudest people who i have ever encounted on the telephone in my life. A total of six hrs. on hold and nothing acomplished not to mention now my flight is gone and these people dont call me back. Any help out there?
