Question DetailsAsked on 7/8/2013

Wondering the average cost to remodel bathroom.

Needing to re-tile shower and set up ledge for seating for handicapped person would need railings, also would need to replace garden tub with jetted tub. Has carpeting in the bathroom and going to replace that and would want a step to be placed and railings for the tub as well.

First floor with concrete slab or second floor? The procedures for the different sub-floor types vary. I would think on average you will need about $15,000 for the tub and shower. $20,000 or slightly more for a full remodel including the vanities, removing the carpet, installing tile floor, etc.

See my other answers to very similar questions for more details about selecting the right contractor for a bathroom remodel. A bad job can cost you a lot more than the lost money on the faulty work. Mold remediation isn't cheap.
