I have a question - unless this is a free-standing porch you want to build, how will a hip roof fit on it - because a hipped roof will dump part of the snow down into a valley at the house roof edge - NOT what you want. Normally you either extend the house roof at the same slope, or put a separate roof stepped down a foot or two to avoid creating ice damming conditions because of too long a roof run.

Depends on your area of course, but for an open roofed porch with no complications, around $40-60/SF is probably a decent ballpark. Enclosed with a few lights and fan, more like $60-100/SF depending on if just screened or windowed, etc. This assumes an elevated porch (no concrete perimeter foundation) and no hurricane or storm surge or floodplain design requirements.
