do you provide listings of tax relief companies?

I am looking for a tax attorney or tax relief company that helps reduce the amount of taxes owed to the IRS in excess of 50k

Tax relief companies rarely deliver on what they promise, and many are scams.

Realize the IRS only reduces amounts due in hardship cases, and where the taxpayer has made a good faith attempt to keep up with payments, or is going into bankruptcy. If you are $50K in the hole, this sounds like gross negligence or intentional failure to pay to me, so you are, as tehy say, probably in dep dodo. But you probably know that already.

If you are in the hole $50K, you are likely in felony tax avoidance country, so you need a serious tax attorney - and one that is certified to practice before the IRS and your local state tax agency, if your state has income taxes or you are in arrears on employer or other taxes as well.

Angie's List does not rate or list attorneys, so try your local yellow pages for the local bar association referral number - they will give you 3 names (at random) from amongst the tax attorneys in your area. Your first question should be if they are authorized to practice before the IRS (and your state tax agency, if applicable) - if not, ask for a referral to one who does.
