drawing my neighborhood boundaries for band of neighbors - how can I be part of my own pre-existing community?

I'm trying to draw my neighborhood boundaries for participation and I keep getting an error that it is part of an existing neighborhood - how do I "join" an existing neighborhood to get things like safety alerts, etc.? I can't seem to draw a boundary that allows me to participate since I live in a pre-existing neighborhood. The address in question is 108 Glenbrook Lane, Avon, IN, 46123 - recommendations that do NOT include the information of how to use the drawing tool or the "redraw" or "edit boundaries" options will be appreciated - I get how to use the tools - I don't get how to actually join the community in which I live.... Thanks, Larissa Moebs
