filling sunken room that already has tile, tear out tile? or can it be filled with it?

sunken living room I'd like to fill. Currently has tile, does the tile have to be removed or can it be filled in with it?

No - normally tile can be left in UNLESS going with a concrete overlay that is less than about 2-3 inches thick - thinner than that can crack up if placed on a non-bonding surface like tile.
