Based on prior questions and comments here about people complaining that the address/location used for the membership was that of the giftor rather than the recipient of the gift, eMail and mailing address being mixed up, and the fact it automatically renews which you might not want, I would suggest you let the individual open the membership and just give them a check for the amount - MUCH more foolproof. Also, that way your credit card does not get linked to their name and account - which could result in erroneous charges.
