I manufacture and install 5" & 6" K gutters and have seen leaf guard, gutter helmet, and many, many more what I refer to as lazy gimmicks. All are supposed to elevate you having to clean your gutters of debris, yet the gutter system will function as it would normally. News flash! They don't work. You will notice in their demonstrations they has a very light flow of water going across the top of the quote guard. In reality the water will skirt right off the top rendering your gutter useless. It will for the most part keep the debris to a minimum from building up in the gutter. However you might as well not even have a gutter when it comes to rain fall. Unfortunately in the 30 years that I have been in business I have never seen any of these quote gimmicks that will do what they're supposed to and still let the gutter function as its designed. Take the money that you would spend on leaf guard and pay someone to clean your gutters twice a year and you will have money to spare left over.
