You can find a lot of ballpark painting costs in the Home > Painting link under Browse Projects, at lower left. Be careful to pay attention to whether a particular question is talking real estate square footage (your 2000 SF number) or the actual wall and ceiling square footage to be painted, which is what actually determines the cost. Some of the questions also go into trim/frame and door painting costs as well.

The difference between labor and total cost with materials (paint and incidentals) will typically be not more than $1/SF, and normally more like $0.25-0.50/SF.
