how much does it cost to have a window pane fixed

I have several windows that my son hit with his bebe gun. Only the first piece of glass was broken leaving the second pane intact. How much will it cost to repair?

Point one - take away BB gun ! For a LONG time.

Point two - sounds like you have double or triple pane windows. These are assembled with the glass held in a vinyl or metal unit that holds both panes of glass (and the center film, if triple pane) with inert gas like Argon or Nitrogen between the panes - so if one pane is broken, the entire unit has to be changed out - the second pane is not usable.

You did not say how big a window - if normal bedroom sized (about 2x3 feet), in our area it runs about $150, but triple pane is the norm here, so cheaper than many other places where it is a specialty item and might run $200-250. A large living room window 6 feet wide can run as much as $500-1000.

Most glass repair shops can handle this.
