You are in luck - here are several similar previous questions with answers. You can also find a lot more answers and suggestions and checklists on how to remove external water sources (roof runoff, rain overflow, etc) in the Home > Basement Waterproofing link under Browse Projects, at lower left.

Unless caused by rising groundwater (in which case surrounding swale or french drain to intercept and lower it is the usual cure), usually diversion of roof runoff away from the house, and some usually minor ditching or berming to divert surface runoff around the house is all it takes.
