how to fix a vinyl dash crack

Since you said classic car, I would locate a vintage car rehab place within reasonable distance. This sort of damage can be plastic welded with a pretty good color match but very hard to get the pattern right - that is where the expert car restoration place comes in.


Cheap and dirty method is an auto body shop that does dash repairs also - though they will probably either weld it without pattern matching (leaving basically a "scar"), or glue it with a vinyl glue, which you can also DIY - available cheap at auto parts stores, but will definitely be visible and noticeable, and likely not a color match either.


Either way, you need to do some research or ask repair guy about vinyl protectant for future use - to keep the vinyl pliable and to protectit from the sun, which likely caused the cracking.
