You can find a LOT of previous similar questions in the Home > TV Repair link under Browse Projects, at lower left.

Generally, if a new comparable TV costs less than about $500 almost certainly cheaper to get a new one (assuming the screen is physically damaged or fritzing out or partly not working or showing lines or such - not just not coming on). In the $500-1000 range might or might not be economic - talk to a TV Repair shop. Over $1000-1500 - quite likely may be cheaper to repair - just remember if getting near a breakeven situation with a new TV presumably you will be getting a new warranty with it, which likely is worth something extra.
