Depends somewhat on your local fire code requires of course, but should be in the ballpark of $400-800 depending on the type and size of door (up to 42" say) - obviously, larger or steel doors cost more. If you are talking just the door panel itself, not the frame or hardware (other than swapping it into the new door) probably more like $300-500 installed assuming it is a fairly standard size or a standard solid core door can be cut down to fit easily.

This assumes you are talking about in a single family residence or duplex - apartment buildings commonly require commercial fire doors for that application, so probably more like $800-1500 installed.

For a simple same-size door replacement a Handyman might well be able to handle it, but be sure he can explain to you the type of door needed (generally 20, 30, or 60 minutes fire rated solid core depending on area) and the measures needed to meet fire code - just any old box store hollow core door does not cut it for garage entry doors, and smoke seals and commonly bronze firestop seal has to be installed too. Otherwise, or to increase the likelihood of a professional job, Doors is your Search the List category.
