how and to whom to sell a mausoleum niche

2 large niches with room for 4 sets of ashes each

There is no such listing category.

You would have to check the contract - not all mausoleum crypts/niches or even cemetery plots can be sold other than back to the cemetary itself.

If it can be sold, basically your choices are to sell it back to the cemetary, to a cemetery plot/niche broker (commonly listed in newspaper ads under cemetery plots), online to something like the, or advertise yourself in paper or Craigslist or such to sell to a private party.

Bear in mind if selling to a private party, the sale has to be approved by and registered with teh cemetary - commonly for several hundred $ at least - so you do not necessarily get more $ in the end than if you sell to the cemetery (commonly for about 1/3-1/2 the current purchase price). Some contracts have a sell-back clause with a guaranteed stipulated percentage of original purchase price instead, which depending on how long it has been held may or may not be a better deal.
