Are you certain that the transmission fluid is leaking or is the fluid simply red? The power steering pump has to be moved to gain access, so the fluid leaking may be power steering fluid.

If it is transmission fluid, the leak may have nothing to do with the recent repair. The best way to find a leak is to have the engine and tranny professionally cleaned, and then drive for a couple of days and check for leaks. A florescent oil dye may help find the leak as well.
