Question DetailsAsked on 12/5/2014

i need to replace the .33ct diamond wa .89 sapphire in my engagement ring and haven't a clue how much that may be

I think the shank that holds the original .33 diamond has to cut off and replaced with one large enough to hold a .8 ct oval sapphire and need some idea of what that may cost, even an industry standard would be helpful

Had a relative do a similar thing - replace a stone in a stud-type 4 prong setting with an enclosed basket-type mount so the stone would not fall out again if one of the prongs was hooked and bent - cost $175 in a white gold ring/setting, at a local jewelry store. Not including the cost of the replacement stone, of course.
