Question DetailsAsked on 10/13/2015

my solar panel seems to be leaking at times leaving wet spot on roof, but then dries out. Is that normal?

It was installed on roof in 2007 as part of hot water system.

You would have to check out when this is happening - if delayed runoff of rain or morning fog condensation not a problem. Also, if rooftop hot water collector system is cold at night (has an automatic cuiculation shutoff to prevent overnight cooling from chilling your hot water accumulator tank) then the metal piping could condense moisture in the morning before the sun warms it up.

But if occurring when condensation is not a possibility, then you probably have a pinhole or theermal crack (which are pretty common on these systems from the daily heating and cooling) - which might open up when system is cold but close up when hot, or vice versa - in which case your warranty provider (if still in warranty or under lease maintance agreement) or solar collector contractor, or possibly an ordinary plumber would be your repair vendor.
