patch holes under roof eave

Sounds like a job for a Handyman, assuming you mean holes in the wall or open eaves, not a roofing issue. Or DIY using an exterior-rated patching compound, or using roll (comes from 6 and 12" widths on up) soffit/eave insect screening stapled on.

If you mean the open space between the rafters, opening into the attic like this (either holes through the blocking between the rafters as shown, or over the top of the blocking or wall) -

if a ventilated attic (not part of the household "conditioned space"), those are supposed to stay open (though insect/bird screened) to provide ventilation into the attic to keep summer heat down and prevent moisture condensation.
