pedestals for front load washer & dryer

Has anyone been successful finding a contractor to install pedestals for a front load washer and dryer? I purchased the washer and dryer in May 2008, however I purchased the pedestals last week. They were delivered to my home, but the delivery company would not install them due to some type of contractual agreement with the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer they don't even have anyone that would install them...only when purchased together with the washer and dryer.....HELP!!!! At this point, if I can't find a contractor to install them I am going to return them to the store. Indianapolis, IN

Something like this is best done at the time the appliances are installed.

I agree with the previous answer. I don't see how you could install these pedestals after the washer and dryer are already installed.

You would need to un-install the units, then put in the pedestals, then re-install the W/D. I also have the front loaders.

Possibly a plumbing contractor would do it? There is no way the basic delivery guy would undertake that responsibility.

Good Luck~

Look for some handyman type with a helper. Its not brain surgery but mostly involves moving and lifting and would require refitting the vent to the dryer. The hoses on the washer are certainly long enough.

Thanks so much for your advice! I found a local handyman that was willing to take on this small task.....he and his helper installed the pedestals this morning! :)
