You have my sympathies - have you been thinking of moving to another state maybe ?

There are about 4 prior questions with a number of responses and solutions linked right below this response. Certainly a contractor can cut and clear most of the above-ground stuff, but will take probably a year or two of repeated herbicide like Roundup Poison Ivy Plus Tough Brush Killer directly injected into the stems and roots to actually kill it. Flamethrower works well for a short time - probably because the jellied gasoline that is not burnt poisons the ground for awhile, but for some reasons environmental and fire officials frown on that, although I have seen government agencies use it for eradication.

And the bad news - unless simultaneously done on the entire patch regardless of fencelines, back to plan A - moving to a state where it won't grow, or plan on continuous mowing and pulling of it for the rest of your life, like with crabgrass.
