rules for discount coupons

A service provider has given me a quote for interior painting. On this service providers Angie's List page, there is a 10% discount coupon for jobs over $1000. What are the rules for using these discount coupons? Must these coupons be presented to the service provider before the quote is provided? Please let me know rules for these discount coupons. Thank you for your time.

Hello, this is Kiel from Angie's List. I'm not certain that there's any hard "rules" about when you present the coupon, but from answers that contractors have given on this question in other threads on this Answers forum, it seems unanimous that the coupon should be presented at the time of the estimate or quote. I would contact the provider and let them know that you have a coupon from Angie's List that you'd like to use, that way there's no surprises later on.

Thanks so much!
