security of Angie's List website

When I try to complete a Big Deal purchase through Angie's List cart, the security lock does not show. Is my credit card information secure?

Hello Stephen! This is Megan H. from our Member Care department. Thanks for contacting us through Answers!

I apologize for any concern this may have caused. Our website is secure, and we use 128 bit encryption from Thawte, a Verisign Company, for all online credit card transactions. You can see that it is secure by looking for the lock or by following the directions explained here. If you have McAfee, that could be why this lock did not show up for you. Due to their recent update this weekend, it created a false positive on our website that was causing this to not show up. To alleviate this problem, you can go into your firewall settings, and set our website as an exception.
