Hey there, we just published an article about car A/C repairs and costs about a week ago: Why doesn't my car's AC work?

It sounds like you have a refrigerant leak in your system somewhere or you need an AC system component replaced. The mechanics mentioned in the article said leak diagnostic and evaluation should cost you about $80 to $150 including adding recharging the refrigerant, but, unfortunately, component repairs can be pretty expensive.

Since it is a GM vehicle, the most common problem is their Compressors. That would explain the fast leak (only lasting 3 months). A leak that fast on a compressor can usually be spotted. You won't see evidence of Freon, but the compressor oil will leak as well, leaving an oil residue. If the compressor front or body is wet, it needs replacing. Plan to replace the dryer and orifice/expansion valve as well.
