Question DetailsAsked on 8/3/2017

what's a good cleaning service in Chicago for a home that has had pets?

We are soon moving into an apartment where cats have been living. We have close relatives who are highly allergic and want the apartment to be free of anything that might cause allergic reactions. We are replacing the carpets. What's a good cleaning service in the area?

House Cleaning would be your Search the List category - sounds like a full Deep Cleaning including top-to-bottom dusting and vacuuming including full furniture moving and cleaning under/behind/inside is called for (so probab ly a $300-500 cleaning, not a $200-300 one) - should ideally be done AFTER the existing carpets are removed but BEFORE the new ones come in, to get the dander and hair and such in and under the carpets, so might take a bit of coordinating with the carpet company.

BTW - don't forget to put full cleaning behind/under appliances too - reefer, stove, washer, dryer, etc - comon major animal hair hiding spots.

You might also consider changing the furnace filter at a minimum, and because the ducts will have hair all through them cleaning them too - high volume vacuum if flexible plastic, rotary brush/air jet and vacuum if metal ducts.

Though as a moderately serious cat hair sufferer myself, pretty much any house which has had cats live in it will likely be uncomfortable for them - hope Claritin or such works as well for them as it does for me.
