Most of the sytems are pretty comparable, excluding the home kit ones in box stores. Your biggest concern should be that it does what you want - adequate number of motion or noise zones, pet false alarm avoidance, security video tie-in, additional water or temperature or power failure alarms if desired, dialup phone or web access to see alarm status and temperature, etc, remote reset capability if desired (either by phone or web, or by in-house remote or secondary reset station), central alarm notification, battery backup, safe intrusion alarm, panic buttons, panic pendant, phone line cut detection, wireless connection to central alarm center, etc.

I recommend Tyco - not that they are necessarily the best, just easy to install, reliable in my experience, dependable central alarm service, and not tendin to jack prices up once you are ending the first contract period.
