Ballpark numbers - depends on type of flooring, if snap joint, glued joint or nailed, stretching care required (for linear patterned carpets), number of special cut-arounds, etc - prices not including the flooring materials itself, but including ancillary materials, separation paper or padding if applicable (laminate and carpet) and tools, labor-

Hardwood about $3-4/SF, usually around $3.50/SF

Laminate $4-5/SF (higher than hardwood because requires padding as opposed to just a separation layer), usually around $4/SF unless glued or end-drive splined

Carpet about $1-2/SF, usually around $1.25-1.50/SF
