Question DetailsAsked on 11/13/2015

what should labor cost be to replace a/c coil (attic location)? Part is under warranty.

Both units are under warranty. First coil cost $900 (including 4 lbs of freon). I was quoted $600 to do the second one. Is this fair labor cost?

Depends on the attic, easy or difficult access, usually requires two techs. Refrigerant needed, new filter drier, are not covered by warranty and are requied. Some systems require the refrigerant in the system to be "recovered" take a recovery machine and some additional time.

Prices vary greatly around the country, metro, suburban or rural,in that order highest to lowest labor charges.
