For my money - a Cisco/Linksys router running their proprietary firewall software (stops about 40-100 attempted intrusions a day on my computer), keep the Apple Firewall active (stops about another 10-15 questionable contact attempts a day), and Norton 360 Mac - stops 1-5/day on my computer - mostly programs like Adobe Acrobat wanting to "phone home" when I do not want them trying to auto update, but about 2-3 viruses detected a day on websites - including having caught virus on websites like banks, CNN News, Angies List, government websites - even caught one residing in an Apple dowload file ones, and a Trojan virus on a Department of Defense site once.

Norton 360 Mac - I pay $69.99/year for a 5-device multi-user license (can load software for Mac and/or Window computers).

Hint - the Norton Deepsight community "bad" website tracking/reporting function is dog slow - so if really slows your computer down, turn off that community info sharing function. Also - turn off constant hard drive scanning or it will take up 50% or more of your compuer's time, causing dead stalls at times while it is scanning large or compressed files.

Note - true virus/attack protection is available for computer only, not phones/tablets, where you are basically stuck with the router protection and Apple protection only.
