First assumption would be a leaking drain pipe, though I have see a couple of cases where a partial backup during water discharge caused a backup thjrough an air breaker, also one case where a water pipe leaked during water hammer during washing machine and dishwahser valve operation.

You need a Plumber to track this down and find the leak - and undoubtedly a Water and Smoke Damge contractor to dry out the water before it causes mold and rot - if a significant spread in the flooring or you have a low homeowner's deductible, likely cause for an insurance claim also to pay for the repair (possibly coered) and drying out (which should be covered).
