Angie's List provides names and contact info on providers / contractors, and reviews by customers - any pricing info is only through Answers to questions, but responders do not know where you are to help you with that info.

Unfortunately, the cheapest one will be the one who leaves raw sewage all over your yard, whose truck leaks in the driveway, only halfway cleans the tank, and then dumps his load somewhere along the road in a ditch or some farmer's field so teh local environmental agency comes back to you for cleanup costs !

Choose a reputable pumper who knows what he is doing - your best references will be neighbors, since if you are on septic most of them probably are too. Ask them who has done a clean job and what they charged.

Depends a lot on where you live, and where they have to go to dump the tank. Can typically run from $300-500 in areas where a free public dump station is within 5 miles of your house. Alternatively, if they have to drive an hour or more round trip and then pay $100-200 to dump a 1000 gallon truckload then your cost may exceed $800, or even more if you have a very large tank or live in an area with high groundwater, meaning a lot of leach field water is pumped out too. I once had a site where we were putting a new leach field on an existing fairly new tank - 800 gallon tank pumping job took over 6000 gallons to empty the system !. That is why it is important ask your neighbors what is normal in your area.
